Gimax
has always been one of the leading companies involved in the handling
of ferrous and non-ferrous wire.
The company was founded in 1978 by Gianluigi Marangoni. His strong
technical background has ensured that the company place a similarly
strong emphasis on the technical aspects of the machinery in relation
to the application, this is an aspect that differentiates all Gimax
equipment from other competitive equipment on the market.
The 1980s saw the first stage in the evolution of the company. During
this time it established itself quite firmly as a supplier to the wire
industry and developed its first range of semi-automatic respooling
machinery. This range of machinery was developed in collaboration with
CZ ELETTRONICA,
the supplier of all the electronics in Gimax machinery
and the most important partner to Gimax as a company.
At the start of the 1990s, Gimax began to grow at a much faster rate,
partly due to the development and success of the fully automatic
respooler and
partly due to its expansion on the worldwide market (in
particular the acquisition of new customers and the establishment of
agents in key areas worldwide). The fully automatic respooler proved to
be an “avant-garde” piece of machinery and still
remains today the most efficient and cost-effective automatic respooler
available.
In the past decade, Gimax has also acquired or established new companies (one
of the main ones being the partial acquisition of its partner and supplier CZ
ELETTRONICA) and has now the consistency of a group, each company specialised
in a particular field or aspect of the group's activities.
The group activities range form the handling of wire, customised
industrial automation, production of machinery for insulating panels to
the research into chemical reactivants used in the manufacturing of
insulation.
