Technical data INF-1
Movie The Gimax Pail Packer has been designed to coil
most types of wire in a variety of drum sizes, from the smallest 100 kg packs
up to the traditional 350 kg and even reach the large 1000 kg drum size. The Pail
Packer is equipped with two capstains which not only draw the wire into the machine
but also ensure that it is kept taut and twist-free. The wire passes through a
series of straighteners and is then coiled into the drum by a flyer which layers
the wire in a rosette fashion. The drum is made to turn on an eccentric with respect
to the flyer as well as turning on its own axis, this is to ensure that the pattern
of the wire layers is kept correct and constant. The machine is also equipped
with a system to vibrate the drum so that the wire settles well into the drum
itself (it is possible to vary the frequency of the vibrations as well as the
interval between each vibration and the next). The system used by the Gimax Pail
Packer does not require the use of a drum with a central core – the machine
does not need the core as a reference and therefore the cost of a drum is in fact
lower. It also means that it is possible to use a drum that has a guide cone to
pull out the wire built into it and not oblige the end-user to add one onto the
drum.
