Technical data Polispira Movie The Polispira semi-automatic respooling line has been updated to offer even more flexibility than the basic version, and allows the use of a much larger range of spool types and sizes than before. The line still requires an operator to place the empty spool or wire basket in the respooler and hook the wire, but the operator no longer needs to always accompany the first layer(s) himself; the machine can be equipped with an automated system that accompanies the first few rows of wire and then allows the machine to cycle up to maximum speed. The operator is required at the end of the cycle to cut and tie the wire to the spool and then remove the finished spool by hand. Once the operator has acquired a good working knowledge of the machinery, the same operator should now easily be able to coordinate two Polispira respooling lines. The line is also equipped with a PLC to control all the functions and to signal the status of the line or any alarm conditions. The PLC can also be fitted with a modem allowing Gimax to interface directly from the factory should there be a necessity to intervene in the programme of the system. One main feature is the capability of automatically detecting an error in the precision layer winding and to return to a point prior to the error and then wait for the operator before attempting to correct it.
