The wire drawing process generates significant heat. This heat affects the lubricants’ ability to ensure quality wire production. The amount of generated heat is influenced by an interaction of factors that include the metal composition, surface preparation, and production equipment.

The dry drawing machinery can be supplied with capstans fitted vertically or horizontally, and the latter can be either normal or tilted. The initial input diameter of the wire can be as large as 15mm, and the machinery can reduce wire down to 0,5mm, all this depending on the many different wire types or alloys that this line can handle.
